Erin Randolph

 

For 10 years, I taught 3rd and 4th grades in the Louisburg School District. Currently, I serve as the Reading Interventionist at Timber Sage Elementary.  I have worked in the Spring Hill School District since the 2018-2019 school year.

Kansas State University - Bachelor of Science Elementary Education, 2005
Baker University - Master of Arts in Education, 2008 
MidAmerica Nazarene University - Reading Specialist Certification - completion date of July 2021  

Teaching Philosophy
I believe:
- a classroom environment should allow students to thrive 
- in making all students feel welcome, regardless of their abilities or background
- a classroom should be a "no-judgement zone" where students are comfortable expressing creativity, taking risks, and sharing new ideas 
- making mistakes is simply another opportunity to learn and practice  
- embracing one another's differences can make our classroom and school community stronger 
- in using positive behavior reinforcement and encouraging students to demonstrate positive behavior
- a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment allows students to learn at their fullest potential
- using a variety of teaching methods can help meet the needs of each student
- students' needs are dynamic and learning should be hands-on and relative 

About Me:
My husband, Scott, and I reside in Olathe with our two children, Brooks and Sylvia, who attend Spring Hill schools. 

You can usually find us chauffeuring our kids to their various activities and practices.  On our off days, we like to experiment at home with different meal recipes or play board games.  I'm also a sucker for a great book and a challenging crossword puzzle!     

Traveling to new places is a favorite of ours.  Visiting U.S. National Parks is one of our travel priorities.  In addition to visiting at least one or more National Parks, we try to squeeze in one summer beach trip each year.

I am thrilled to be a part of the Timber Sage community!
